BOPP Tape Specifications & Quality Review

This page explains which parameters matter in a BOPP tape RFQ and which performance values must stay project-specific until a qualified construction and test method are confirmed.

Specification schema

Core fields for a serious tape RFQ

Not every buyer will know every value. Unknown fields can remain open, but the quotation should not silently assume them.

Construction

BOPP film thickness, adhesive type, total thickness, color and print construction.

Dimensions

Width, usable width, roll length, core format and packing configuration.

Performance

Adhesion, tack, holding power, tensile, elongation and unwind — only with agreed test methods.

Thickness

Film thickness vs total tape thickness

A quote can go wrong if one party means BOPP film micron while the other means the finished tape construction. Always state which thickness is being requested.

Adhesive

Water-based acrylic is the primary reviewed system

Other adhesive systems can be discussed for a specific application, but they are not presented as standard availability on this site.

Performance data

Numbers need a construction and a test method

Without a supplier TDS or agreed test basis, the website does not publish unconditional performance values for adhesion, holding power, tensile, shelf life or temperature.

ParameterWhy buyers askWebsite treatment
AdhesionBond to a defined surfaceDiscuss per construction; no generic guarantee
Holding powerResistance to shear under loadRequires test basis
Tensile / elongationFilm mechanical behaviourConstruction-specific
UnwindImportant in converting and machine useReview against downstream equipment
Storage / shelf lifeInventory and climate planningOnly publish when supported by qualified product documentation

If your existing specification sheet uses different terminology, submit the values you have and identify which fields are unknown rather than forcing a catalogue match.
